Statement
I was born in 1952 and grew up in Deerfield, Illinois. My passion for art started when I was a little girl. I used to draw on my bedroom walls with purple crayon. I know my parents were not too happy with me and would end up painting over my beautiful masterpieces more than once. My dear mom, who in her own rite was a wonderful artist, was always my inspiration and biggest fan.
I am basically a self-taught artist. I have learned by trial and error and feel I am always a work in progress.
Oils are my primary medium, and have been painting with them for over 40 years. Pastels and pencil are other mediums I work in as well.
Along with my mom, many fine artists have inspired me, with my favorites being Rembrandt, John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Norman Rockwell, Dan Gerhardt, Morgan Weistling, and Richard Schmid.
I have always been about holding on to memories and the emotions tied to those memories. There is nothing more beautiful than being able to capture a moment in time and holding it dear to the heart for all time.
